Xavier University Art Professor, Marsha Karagheusian, created a series of twenty six, hand-built, Raku-fired ceramic totems, ranging from six to eight feet tall. The totems represent figures, souls, spirits in communion, in communication, and in conversation. Here she describes a little history of each stage of her process and her approach to developing this installation. The work was featured in a major solo exhibition at Funke Fired Arts in Cincinnati, Ohio.
